Welcome

Welcome to the website of British actress Tanya Franks - probably most famous for her roles as the drunken primary school teacher KAREN in BBC’s award winning comedy 'Pulling' and as the drug-addicted RAINIE in 'EastEnders'. Although if you are a CBBC 'Hotel Trubble' fan you will know her as the ambitious Brummie DOLLY.

Have a look around the site for pics, clips, interviews, and bits of info from Tanya's career. And check out what Tanya's up to with her own production company Stock-pot Productions

Tanya stars in ITV's Broadchurch & Sky Living's Kitten Chic

A lovely article about Tanya and her current projects Broadchurch and Kitten Chic has been shared by Seventy2Minutes.com.

The ever popular star Tanya Franks is never off our screens with favourites like the number one primetime soap Eastenders, Skins and the BBC Award winning comedy Pulling.

She is now pleasing fans in the hit ITV drama Broadchurch as Ellie’s ‘bad sheep’ sister, Lucy Stevens, and will also be starring in the new Sky Living comedy pilot Kitten Chic, which is to be aired on 11th April at 9:30pm.

The Mirror has another lovely preview of Broadchurch mentioning Tanya's character.

This week Ellie’s sister Lucy appears. Played by Tanya Franks, she’s very similar to, the bad-sheep sister Franks played in EastEnders. More importantly, her son, Olly the journalist, gets his first taste of the power of the press when Karen White (Vicky McClure) lets him write a piece about Jack the newsagent’s old conviction for underage sex.

Vicky B. Online interview

Vicky B. Online interview

Tanya chatted with Vicky B. Online in an exclusive interview about her upcoming movie ‘Liz & Dick‘ co-starring Lindsay Lohan and Grant Bowler.

The English actress who is most known for starring roles on television in ‘Family Affairs,’ ‘The Bill,’ the comedy series ‘Pulling‘ and as Rainie Cross in ‘EastEnders‘ takes on the role of Sybil, Richard Burton‘s wife in her first role filming in the US.

Be sure to check out Tanya in ‘Liz & Dick’ on Lifetime which will air on Nov. 25th. Don’t miss it!

VB: You have finished filming your new film ‘Liz and Dick’ tell us about your character Sybil Burton.

TF: She was the first wife of Richard Burton who he leaves for Elizabeth Taylor, who sadly has to deal with the humiliation of such a pubic affair.

VB: How did you prepare for the role?

TF: I did lots of research through books and Internet trying to trace as much as I can about Sybil and her marriage to Richard.

VB: Was there a lot of pressure to prepare for a role that was based on a real life person?

TF: Well I made the choice not to worry too much about impersonating Sybil, but to go for the truth of the situation within the story that we were telling otherwise you’re risking asking an audience to always be comparing you to the real person.

VB: What attracted you to take the role?

TF: It’s such an enormous story and we know very little about Sybil and how she was affected.

VB: What can my readers and your fans expect from you in the near future?

TF: Well I’m back in Britain doing an episode of ‘Pramface‘, a new ITV drama called ‘Broadchurch‘ and I’m in a film called ‘Magnificent 11‘ that comes out next spring. You can still catch me in ‘New Tricks‘ on BBC iPlayer. Also I’m raising finances for my first feature film by Stock-pot Productions, that I’ve written and producing.
